Missus Smith can design bags for weddings; for the Bride and Bridesmaids but also for Mothers of the Bride and Groom and guests.

Bags can be individually designed to match a wedding theme or an outfit. Handbags used by the Mother of the Bride and Groom have become as an important part of the outfit as the hats chosen for the occasion!

Alternatively, a bag style from the Missus Smith range can be altered to accommodate a Bride’s needs. The Teardrop is the bag most often chosen for this and can be made in a variety of colours to suit a wedding‘s colour scheme and can even be embellished to match the Bride’s and Bridesmaids’ dresses.

Missus Smith requests that Brides supply the fabric needed for wedding bags to ensure happiness with the colour matches.

Wedding bags can often be the same price as the same style from the range on offer. The price will increase depending on fabric choices and if any embellishment is required.

Tate-Dyer wedding commission

Missus Smith made Teardrop bags for the Tate-Dyer wedding in 2008.

Provided with photos of the bride's and bridesmaids' dresses, Missus Smith made suggestions as to what could be created and designs were decided upon.

The bride's Teardrop was made in ivory satin overlaid with gathered ivory chiffon from one side, matching detailing on the bride's dress.

The bridesmaids' Teardrops were made in the same crimson fabric as the dresses, the bodices of which were beaded with tiny red and silver beads. Missus Smith sourced beads and embroidered the Teardrops in a style similar to that on the dresses.

Krzysiek-Helms wedding commission

Missus Smith created a Teardrop bag for the Krzysiek-Helms wedding in 2009.

After viewing photos of the bride's dress a design was decided upon and the bride was asked to provide ivory chiffon to ensure the colour match with the dress was correct.

The Teardrop was made in ivory satin overlaid with gathered ivory chiffon. The chiffon was gently pleated from the top of the bag and allowed to drape, echoing the drape of the skirt on the bride's dress
